1. Who we are
Service provider: Connept Kennels. Contact us using our contact form.
In this policy, “Connept Kennels”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Connept Kennels. For UK data-protection purposes, we are the controller of personal information used to manage our website, enquiries, accounts, subscriptions, billing and our own business operations.
Where a business customer uploads information about its clients, staff or other people to the service and decides why that information is used, that customer is normally the controller and we act as its processor. That processing is also governed by our data-processing terms and the customer's own privacy notice.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name, business name, role, postal address, email address and telephone number;
- account credentials, user permissions and security records;
- subscription, invoice, payment status and transaction references. Payment-card details should be processed by our payment provider rather than stored by us;
- enquiries, support requests, feedback and communications;
- technical information such as IP address, device and browser information, login events, diagnostic data and security logs;
- usage information about how the website and service are accessed and used; and
- information entered into the service by boarding kennel customers, including owner, staff, dog and booking records. Dog records may contain information that identifies or relates to an individual owner.
3. How and why we use information
When we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether our interests are necessary and balanced against your rights. You can object in the circumstances described below. Google Analytics remains disabled until you accept analytics through our consent control.
4. Payments through Paddle
We use Paddle to provide checkout, subscription billing and payment services. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record and authorised reseller for purchases made through Paddle Checkout. This means the buyer contracts with Paddle for the transaction, while Connept Kennels supplies access to the Connept Kennels software.
During checkout, Paddle may collect and process information such as your name, email address, billing address or location, payment and billing information, tax information, transaction details, device or technical information, and information used for fraud prevention and regulatory compliance. Payment-card details are entered into Paddle's checkout and are not stored by us. Paddle may provide us with limited buyer, subscription, transaction and payment-status information so we can activate and administer your subscription, provide support, prevent misuse, keep appropriate financial records and meet legal obligations.
Paddle processes buyer information under its own privacy notice and buyer terms. Please read Paddle's Privacy Notice and Paddle's Buyer Terms before purchasing. The Paddle entity involved and the rights and legal bases that apply may depend on your location.
5. Sharing information
We may share information with carefully selected hosting, infrastructure, customer-support, communications, professional-adviser and payment providers, including Paddle for checkout, subscription administration, order fulfilment, fraud prevention, support and financial compliance; with authorities where required by law; or in connection with a genuine corporate transaction. If you consent to analytics, website usage information is shared with Google as our analytics provider. Providers must protect information and may use it only as permitted by the applicable agreement and law.
We do not sell personal information.
6. International transfers
Some suppliers, including Paddle and its service providers, may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, the relevant organisation will use an applicable adequacy decision, contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism, together with supplementary protections where needed. Paddle explains its international-transfer practices in its own Privacy Notice. You may contact us for more information about safeguards applying to processing for which we are responsible.
7. Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including to provide the service, meet tax and accounting duties, resolve disputes and maintain security. Paddle determines the retention period for information it controls under its own Privacy Notice. Account and customer content will be deleted or returned after termination in accordance with the subscription and data-processing terms, subject to backups and legal retention duties.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Customers are responsible for protecting credentials, choosing appropriate permissions and using the service lawfully.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information; object to processing; receive portable information; and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
To exercise a right relating to our processing, use our contact form and select “Privacy or data request”. For information processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record, use the contact and rights information in Paddle's Privacy Notice. If your information was entered by a Connept customer, contact that customer first because it normally controls the record.
10. Children
The website and subscription service are not directed to children. Customers must not create user accounts for children or use the service to collect children's personal information unless they have a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this notice as the business, service, suppliers or law changes. Material changes will be brought to account holders' attention where appropriate. Questions may be sent through our contact form.
